A card for a man

Here's a quick card I made for my brother's birthday. I always find men's cards a bit of a head scratcher, but I think these colours from Stampin' Up make the card.

The stamp set is 'Cheers to You' which also has some lovely cocktail and champagne glass images, perfect for lots of occasions. Using blender pens and Stampin' Write markers gives a lovely colour washed effect that you don't get with alcohol based pens.

I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to position the new 'dot,dot,dot' stamp to make a lovely background, stamping Chocolate Chip ink onto Chocolate Chip card gives a great effect. Then I drew diagonal lines of Always Articoke using the Stampin' write markers onto matching card for the green section.

Night of Navy scallop circle punches and More mustard are used for the accents and lettering (which I cut and layered with my die cutting machine). I am just loving the colour combination!

Rainton Meadows papercraft show

Woohooo! Hello to all the ladies I met today at the show. We had a great time talking to fellow crafters and it was nice to see there's already quite a few Stampin' Up fans around.

In response to feedback today I am hoping to put together a new catalogue launch party in October to showcase the exciting new colour collections. 'Follow' my blog to be updated with new ideas, promotions and any new events we have planned. 

There were lots of questions today about where to get these gorgeous products. The current Stampin' Up catalogues are here. The simplest way is to drop me an email  - I can send you a paypal invoice and have the products delivered to your door - p+p is only £3.95 or 5% whichever is greater.

Or why not hold a workshop in your home and earn free products based on sales of the products on the night.

My first card class

Well, we had a blast at our first class. I received a brand new Dasher stamp a couple of days before, so got all inspired and Christmassy.

Here are the two cards and gift card holder we made.

The class was so much fun, we decided it should be a fortnightly event.

Classes start on Thursday 12th August at Whickham Community Centre and cost £6 per session (£5 if paid in advance). We are nearly full at the moment, so if you'd like to join in please email me in advance to reserve a place.

A very busy month!

Hi everyone

I haven't posted for ages, there's been so much to do! But I have lots of projects to show you from the last month, so pop by to see what I've been up to as I will be trying to update my blog with everything over the next week or two.

Teaming up with my nearest two Stampin' Up demos, Yvonne and Melanie, we've been going to some craft fairs and fun days, to show you all the great projects you can achieve with our lovely products.

Here's Melanie at Chester Grove Strawberry Fayre - I niftily dodged getting my photo took by bringing the camera :) We had a great weekend meeting lots of crafty people.

We are planning to attend the papercraft show at Rainton Meadows on 22 August so why not pop in to see us. We'll be running short 'make and take' workshops on the day - sessions usually fill up quickly, so make sure you get there early to put your name down!
The next week we are appearing at an Antique and Craft show at Durham Private School on 28 August. There'll be more details of these shows soon.

Another card

Just a quick post - I made this card with one of my favourite sets 'Loads of Love' and was so pleased with it I had to share it. I am loving the new Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry colours so much! And I'm totally addicted to the polka dot ribbon - it's only available while stocks last - get yours now before we run out!

Well I haven't posted for a while, because I've been busy having the best time learning lots of new things with Stampin' Up, (among other much more boring stuff)

My first couple of workshops were great fun and I really enjoyed making some small projects with the guests. They loved trying the 'Flight of the Butterfly' stamps with matching punch and were amazed at how easy it was to get fab backgrounds using the 'Stampin' Around' wheel. 

Today I managed to get a whole morning crafting with my best friend, Helen. We made a few projects that I found on the web, but I am most pleased with this one. The tutorial is from Kazzells Craft and it was easy to make, once you get the hang of how the card goes together you can decorate it any way you want.
